Review of Life History, Functional Traits and Anthropogenic Pressure on Euplerids
Collaborators: Dr. Brian Gerber and Dr. Zach Farris
Family Euplerid has received little research attention, yet these unique species are currently IUCN red listed in decline and threatened with extinction due to intensifying anthropogenic pressures. Little is known about these species’ ecology and population trends, precluding forecasts of extinction risk. However, life history and functional traits are influential in understanding how species interact and persistent in their environment. A comprehensive evaluation of traits can help predict species response to environmental pressures and aid conservation efforts.
